Caravan Holidays
The Adventures of Taking Your Kids Caravanning
Caravan Holidays
If your kids are anything like mine, then there is nothing they love more than packing up the caravan for a trip to the luxury lodges or holiday parks. However, just because they enjoy going doesn't mean getting them there is a piece of cake. While our kids love traveling in the caravan, keeping them happy requires some preparation.
What you pack and how you plan is all dependent on how long you're going away for and where you are staying. For example, if you plan on staying at one of the caravan parks with a swimming pool, you better bring enough bathing suits and towels for the duration of your stay. I like to do some research beforehand for a list of places we would like to visit, what it would cost us, and when they're open.
The wonderful thing about travelling in a caravan to holiday parks is not only the fact that our kids get a chance to play outside for hours but they also get the opportunity to make new friends to play with. The caravan parks site environment is as safe as never before anymore. No longer do you need to worry about any type of criminal behavior or fast moving traffic through the parks.
The last luxury lodges site we recently stayed at was perfect for the kids. The environment was warm and inviting and you couldn't have asked for better weather. All the kids were very friendly and a giant game of tag was played to the delight of every kid on site and kid at heart. It reminded me of why I love caravan holidays in the first place.
One tip I always like to share involves planning out your meals. If you won't be arriving at your caravan parks site until later in the day, try to plan your meal ahead of time instead of leaving it to chance. I always bring something with us from home or quickly stop at restaurant in advance. This way we know that the kids will be fed before they get too tired and grumpy to care.
Like most parents staying at these holiday parks, as long as our children are happy, then we are happy. Caravanning is a wonderful way to find a few relaxing days away from it all. With a little bit of planning, your next caravan trip with the kids can be quite stress free. While I know that they won't always want to go on caravan holidays with their parents in a few years but at least u then, we're looking forward to tucking them into SpongeBob and Thomas for many happy holiday seasons.
